A Fancy Halloween

The girls decided that they wanted to be Fancy this halloween. Abigail wanted to be Fancy Nancy, but didn't want her sisters to be Fancy Nancies too, so we had a Fancy Dancy and a Fancy Clancy. They loved playing dress up in all of the froo froo stuff.

The Big Kids

We have a wonderful babysitter named Elisa. She just moved here from France and is so patient with the kids. Elizabeth has finally warmed up to her and that says something. She helped
the kids get ready for the trunk-or-treat on Friday. She was excited to celebrate Halloween.

First Grader

Kindergarten. Oh My!
This is Abigail's First Grade Picture a HUGE improvement from last year's picture, I must say. I can't believe my first born is growing up so fast.

Grandparent's Day

In September, Abigail's school celebrated Grandparent's day by inviting all of the grandparents to a breakfast put on by the PTA. Abigail was so proud to have Grand Nan and Papa there.

Spot Shot

I need to say how much I LOVE this product. So far I have gotten crayon and dried nail polish out of carpet with this stuff and chalk out of upholstery. Both of my twins are quite the artists and they will write on anything and everything if they have pens, pencils, crayons, markers, or paint in their little paws. They seem to not be making the connection that they will have a consequence if they write on anything but paper, so it is best to keep all writing utensils out of sight. It never fails though, they always seem to find something to do their artwork with. This product is not a natural, eco-friendly cleaning product. If it were I would have the twins clean up their own messes, but it has a pretty strong chemical smell. The biggest thing is that it DOES THE JOB, so I still highly recommend it. I am thinking of doing my own little test and taking a permanent marker and writing on a piece of fabric to see if I can get a permanent marker stain out. That would be the ultimate test, I think. I couldn't believe it got nail polish out though, amazing. You can find Spot Shot at Walmart and Walgreens and other stores I am sure, those stores are just the ones that I have seen the stuff at, but if I couldn't find it I would go so far as to ordering it off the Internet, it is that good.

Carson & Barnes Circus

Yesterday, my parents surprised us and took us to the circus in Fort Worth. This was the only decent picture I got of the whole thing because my camera didn't do well inside the arena. We had lots of fun watching all of the acts with the Elephants, Tigers, Ponies, Dogs, Acrobats, Clowns, and much more. Elizabeth of course was a bit nervous about the clowns. It was a really fun treat and the kids are still talking about it today. Abigail even one a free ride on an Elephant.

Rangers 7 - Yankees 2

Darin took me on a date yesterday to the Texas Rangers playoff game. It was a great game. Of course we were in the nose bleed section, but it was really fun anyway. Aren't those Texas flags beautiful. The energy of the crowd was great and WE WON!! It has been a long time coming since the Texas Rangers were in the playoffs

Face Painting

When Darin painted his face for the UNT game (see below) the girls had to have their faces painted too. I will never claim to be an artist, but I think the face paint turned out okay, especially since I was working on moving objects. Unfortunately, Emily had an allergic reaction to the paint and her whole face got red and swollen.

UNT Eagles - Mean Green Fan

My dad loves UNT. He is a very faithful patron of the basetball and football teams. He invited darin to a game about two weeks ago and Darin decided to try to out do my dad as UNT's number 1 fan.

Spa Day with Grand Nan

The other day, Grand Nan let the girls take a bath in her jacuzzi and then they did hair and nails and played with Grand Nan's many colorful accessories. What a great memory!

Funny Things

My kids have been cracking me up this week, and I keep thinking to myself, "You have to write that one down." Well, I waited too long to write down some of the funny things that they have been saying cause I realized this morning that I have already forgotten most of them, but here is one from Abigail that she said on the way to school this morning.

As we were pulling up to the school, I asked Abigail
"Which grade uses the portables?"
Abigail said,
"Oh, mom, that's not where kids have class, that is where the cafeteria ladies and teachers sleep at night!"
To all my teacher friends out there, you guys really do live at the school, according to Abigail!

Happy Fall Yall

So, I have been really bad about updating this thing since we moved. Our lives have just been insane and I haven't had the time nor taken pictures to document our comings and goings. I have about 24 music students right now and that is after cutting back a few. I was up to about 30 with four on a waiting list, when I decided that I needed to pare down. Darin finally has a full time job at the Walmart Distribution center. It is really hard manual labor, so I know he is still keeping his eye out for a career. I can't wait until our family can settle down. It has been nice having the extra help with my family around and the girls have had fun playing with their Texas cousins. I will try better to keep this thing updated especially with the holidays coming up.

The Animals

The animals did great traveling to Texas. Aggie really loves the nicely groomed yard and she no longer smells like a cow pie. Mr. O'Malley has gotten a little lazy and put on a bit of weight. Unfortunately, Mr. O'Malley got hit by a car about two weeks ago. We took him to the Emergency Vet clinic to be put down because we thought he was a goner. The vet decided to keep Mr. O'Malley for a few days and do some X-Rays and medicate him. Amazingly he came home about four days after the accident. He has a broken jaw, burst eardrum, and a really bad concussion. When he got home he couldn't even walk cause his equilibrium was off. He gets better daily and we are hoping that he will be fully recovered shortly. Cats really do have nine lives, I think.

Aggie got a pedicure during General Conference on Sunday. The amazing thing about this is that she actually sat still for Harrison. When I gave her a haircut last time, she had to be sedated. This time she was totally chill while Harrison was trimming her toenails. This post is dedicated to Kristin, who has helped me with many a pet issue.

No Training Wheels

One of Abigail's main goals has been to learn to ride her bike with no training wheels. We have taken several trips to the park and let her ride on the bike trail. She is pretty good now and is even confident going down hill, starting and stopping. Way to go Abi.

1st Grade

Abigail gets to go to first grade where Misty went to Elementary School.
This is her outside the school on meet the teacher night.
Abigail was excited to get Mrs. Ice as her teacher.
The PE teacher and Music teacher are the same from 21 years ago when Misty was a first grader.
We haven't really gotten anymore pictures with all of the chaos that has been going with our move, but at least we got one.
