Releve Dance Competition in Ogden

Dance competition season is upon us again. The twins were able to participate in their first competition, which was pretty exciting for them. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of the twins at this competition. I was too flustered in the moment, getting two little ones ready and where they needed to be and they were first on the stage, so it was kind of a rush. It is quite the experience having 3 girls dance. We woke up at 5:45 in SLC for a dance competition that began at 10:30 in Ogden. I was so lucky to have Heather's help that weekend. I can't believe we were still rushing with waking up that early and having two adults helping the girls. CRAZY! Heather and I didn't even have time to put our make up on that day.

 

Abigail's first dance was called Cowgirls and they danced to the song cotton-eyed joe. They were SO SHARP! I was one proud momma! It was  a jazz routine and it took White Diamond (first place) and the Highest Score of the Day in their age group!!!

These pictures are of Abigail warming up for One Brick At A Time. It was more like a musical theater - jazz routine and it also took White Diamond (first place). It had a high point award as well.

The twins dance was a jazz/hip hop routine and they were little poodles. Their dance took Pink Diamond (second place). I thought they did awesome for their first time out at a competition. Hopefully, I will get pictures of them at their competition in May.

5 months old

Can't believe this cuteie is 5 months old already.

Date Night a-la Abigail

Because we had so much sickness in our house in the month of February, Darin and I were not able to go on a date. Abigail wanted us to have a date, so we got take-out and she set the table for Darin and I to have a romantic dinner. What a sweet girl she is.

Sick!

It seems like every year we spend nearly an entire month sick. Well, this year our month was February. I was sick on my birthday (Feb. 1st), Darin was sick on his birthday (Feb. 2nd) and the kids were sick all the days in between with anything from a cold virus to vomiting. I finished out the month of February with a 3 day fever, body aches, sore throat, and body aches. Let's just hope March treats us better.

No, I did not photograph my child vomiting. Emily actually fell asleep with her head in a bowl, poor thing, at least she was ready for action.

Just Dance

On President's day, the girls had a couple of friends over from dance and what did they do? "Just Dance" on the Wii. We are excited for the upcoming competition season and know that these little cuties will rock it.

So much FUN!

Carson is getting so fun lately! I just love these milestones and they are flying by way too fast.

Carson outgrew his infant bath tub and took is first Big Boy bath in his bath seat and he loved it (especially chewing on his Bath Time book). This bath tub seat has been one of my favorite things for all of my kids.

He took his first spin in the Johnny Jumper the other day. He hasn't quite figured out to jump yet, but he loves to spin and play with his toys.

We fed Carson his first Cereal and he loved it! He actually finished the entire serving that I prepared for him. This boy loves to eat!

My little Valentine

Isn't this little cherub kissable? I just couldn't keep my lips off of his little body on Valentine's day. He is one of my true loves and I can't believe I am so lucky to be his mom..

Carson can sit up in his boppy now and he loves to play toys, especially ones with lights and sounds. He loves to watch his fish tank on his crib too.

He spends much of his time awake in this exersaucer. He loves it. Such a happy boy!

It's February Already?

Man, the month of January FLEW by. Time just seems to be going by faster and faster these days. Below are some pictures, kind of a random assortment of things we have been up to lately.

The twins are 5 now and I love that they are best friends most of the time. They had their 5 year old well-child check-up at the doctor's office and got their kindergarten immunizations and vision and hearing screenings. Kindergarten can't come soon enough for these little girls, they can't wait.

Here are their stats:

Elizabeth Claire - Height 41.3 inches (24%), Weight 39 lbs (44%)

Emily Celia - Height 43 inches (58%), Weight 41 lbs (60%)

*Both of them are practically perfect in every way.

This picture is a bit blurry (I really need a new camera), but I thought I would share. One of the twins has been coming up every night for the past few weeks saying that she is scared. She finally admitted that she thought that a monster might get her. I kept taking her to bed and having her sing a primary song, told her everything was okay, etc., but nothing was working and she ended up sleeping in our room most nights (not my favorite thing)! So, one night, a light bulb came on and I had the idea to have her make "monster spray" the next day. So we got an old spray bottle, added water, a few essential oils, and glitter of course and I had her decorate the label with her best pictures of scary monsters (you can't see the monsters in the picture cause it is blurry, but they are there). I told her that if she sprayed her room before she went to bed she could sleep well and know that no monsters were going to get her. IT WORKED! So far, so good! We are on night 5 and she hasn't come up since. I also started giving her melatonin cause she was having bad dreams as well and she hasn't woken up with a nightmare yet (keep your fingers crossed).

It happened! We had our birthdays again. I am offically 30 and Darin is 37. I can't believe we are that old. We celebrated our birthdays by going down to Bountiful to visit Heather and Shane. We spent two nights there, and had a fun weekend of eating out, shopping, seeing movies, and getting the van fixed. Oh yes, and we had a Super Bowl party too! Heather made some yummy treats for the Super Bowl Party and this delicious chocolate, raspberry Volcano Cake. I have dedicated my 30's to becoming a better "me" and plan on doing some more things for myself to improve myself physically and spiritually, which inturn will make me  be a better wife, mother, teacher, and overall person.

Carson turned 4 months old on my birthday. I love him so much! He is so fun.

He coos, blows bubbles, smiles, laughs, and has recently started squeeling. He is getting stronger and stronger every day, he rolls from side to side, but not all the way over yet, he totally holds his head up and lurches forward and wishes that he could sit up on his own. He had his 4 month well-baby check-up and immunizations. Here are his stats.

Carson Kent - Height 25 inches (55%), Weight 16lbs 1oz (75%), Head Circumfrence (73%)

He is also practically perfect in every way.

3 Months Old

Time is flying by at turbo speed! Carson is already 3 months old. It seems like time goes by so slowly when you are pregnant, but as soon as the baby comes, boy does it fly by. Carson is such a good happy baby. We love him so much. He coos and smiles and gave us his first giggle.

We love the bowtie onesies that everyone made at the baby shower . Carson looks so daper in his bowtie ready for church.

Happy New Year

One of our New Years Eve Activities (see balloons below) was to go sledding up at ISU. It has been really snowy lately and we had to take the opportunity to play in the snow.

For New Years Eve, I filled each balloon with a piece of paper with an activity on it and the girls would pop the balloon each hour until midnight and we would do the activity as a family. I think they liked it and it may be an activity that we need to repeat next year.
